This is the ninth year that Everett and I have been publishing Mineshaft. Each year we become more ambitious in the magazine's production. The time and money spent on each issue has increased a great deal. I remember the first printing bill for Mineshaft #1 was $350 and now costs for the most recent issues have been over $3,000! This isn't bad news, though sometimes it can be disconcerting, because Mineshaft is doing better than ever with more subscribers and a wider distribution through independent bookshops around the world. Plus we have plans to publish the magazine more frequently, work on special projects with our contributors, and continue to reach out to more readers. How do we pay for each issue of the magazine? Sales, subscriptions, and our day jobs. Every purchase you make here at our website, at independent book shops, and by subscribing helps Mineshaft to keep on trucking! There is also another way to support the magazine and that is to become a Benefactor by choosing some of the options below using the secure PayPal donation buttons. 100% of your donation will go to the production of Mineshaft. Besides the options below we're interested in hearing from you if you would like to support a project by one of our regular contributors. Think about Adopting an Artist today! If you want to send a check or money order, please make the check out to Gioia Palmieri and send to Mineshaft Benefactor, P.O. Box 1226, Durham, NC 27702 U.S.A. If you have any questions, please contact me at holagioia@yahoo.com. We're interested to hear your ideas as we head toward our tenth year of producing Mineshaft! Thanks for your support! -Gioia Palmieri, co-editor & publisher
